17 Years, 17 Facts, 1 Girl

My birthday is coming up--March 24th! I'm going to be 17, and so I decided that I'm going to share 17 random facts about me with you guys. For anyone who cares ;)

1. I'm a loud and quiet person.

I laugh. I cry. I talk loud. I scream. But I'm also one of the quietest people.

When I'm comfortable, I'm loud--annoyingly loud sometimes. My real laugh isn't small, it's big--it might not seem like it, but it is. And when I'm happy, I'm always laughing. Always--it's one of my favorites. But, if I'm uncomfortable, I'm quiet and shy--I almost seem anti-social. I'm also a screamer.... I have to scream on roller coasters, when I get bounced high on the trampoline, when I get scared, everything. I may not like this trait about myself, but it's true.

2. I'm scared of clowns. Because they are cannibals.

3. I have insomnia... always have. I didn't know that's what it was when I was younger, I just knew that I would lay in bed for hours on end without being able to sleep. It gradually got worse as I got older, and is still something I'm struggling with.

Lots of times people tell me that I can beat it if I go to bed earlier, wake up earlier, and don't do anything after a certain time. And I hate hate hate it when people tell me that. If that was the solution I would have kicked this already, but the fact is it's not. It doesn't matter how tired I am, or how early I go to bed. I still can't sleep.

4. Two knee dislocations. Two knee surgeries. Over two years of physical therapy. Daily pain ever since. Take good freakin' care of your knees people!!!!!

6. I have a guilty pleasure.... The Vampire Diaries. I decided to watch it one night out of boredom and curiosity, and after one episode--I was hooked!

7. I'm a dreamer--and I dream big! In 7th grade I decided I wanted to be a lawyer--and I had my whole life planned out. I would graduate with my associates degree, go to BYU my first year of college, then get accepted to Harvard Law School on scholarship. I would graduate in the minimum amount of time, move to Northern Cali, and own my own law-firm by the time I was 30. And no one, I mean nobody in the world was allowed to tell me I couldn't do it. If they tried, I chewed em out and lectured them on how I could make anything happen. And well... I still believe that :) Some day I will have everything I want--even if it's not exactly how I see it in my head

8. When I was going into 8th grade, my sister chopped my hair off. And I mean that... I let her cut it (HUGE mistake!!) and it was scarily short--sorry, but you don't get a picture of that. But, I will show you this picture of me going into 9th grade--and this was after my hair had grown a TON! And now, my hair is long. And it's staying that way!

9. I am growing an obsession with hats.... I recently got this one, and I'm just dying to get this one! I'm almost drooling over it, I want it so bad!

10. I am the proud, proud, PROUD sister of a United States Marine! My brother Michael is just amazing.... I seriously brag about him all the time now :)

11. I'm not sure I believe in Karma. I would like to, but sometimes... I just can't help feeling that it doesn't exist. I know that people will be punished for what they did eventually, but I don't think that it always happens on this earth. If it did exist, people who have hurt me wouldn't continue to do the same thing over and over again... whether it's with me or someone else.

12. I hate my hands immensely. They're bony, big, ugly. I've always called them "old lady hands". My knuckles are huge, a lot of times they look out of place with my arms, and I just hate hate hate them!

13. My natural hair is all funky... it's not really wavy, straight, and it's definitely not curly. Its just blah. But I have always, always, always wanted curly hair! Because it's my favorite. And I'm loving having long hair because I can curl it!

14. I'm a complete girly girl. Always have been You would never really peg me as anything but. And despite how I seem--I'm kinda a geek! I looove tons of SciFi shows. I love Star Trek (mostly the new movie with scrumptious Kirk), Star Wars (all of them), Stargate (the movie, SG-1, and Atlantis{<-that ones my favorite version}), and all the awesomely awesome movies based off of comic books. I'm a sexy geek with that stuff ;) heheheee

15. I love love love movies! I grew up watching movies with my family, and our movie library is huuuuge!! I don't understand people who refuse to watch a movie after they've seen it, even if they liked it. I watch movies I like over and over again... then I watch them again. I love comedy to chick flicks to horror to thrillers to action to children and family. I love so many different types. I could seriously be perfectly happy with a stack of movies, a tv, a dvd player and snacks for weeks on end.

16. I'm a hopeless romantic. I mean, hopeless! When I like a guy, I think of all the possible ways our "relationship" may go, and decide which one has the cutest story. I watch chick flicks non-stop. I look at women who are completely and utterly happy in love with their husbands. I watch, and I can't wait for that to be me. And that is part of the reason why I haven't dated yet. I'm not gonna date a jerk just because he asks me out, he's gonna have to be special :)
